On Saturday I was selling Girl Scout cookies outside Trader Joe's in NW Portland. A young man came up and asked me which ones I thought were best and I told him Samoas. He said that sounded good and gave me $4 and I gave him a box of the Samoas. Then he turned around and handed me the box back and said, "These are for you. Enjoy!" I was so excited!!!! I shared some with the man selling Street Roots sitting next to us, and he was so happy too.

This weekend my next door neighbor was moving dirt from where it was delivered in his driveway to the garden in the back yard. I saw it was a big job and that he could use some help, and I figured I could use a bit of fresh air and exercise, so I went over to lend a hand. My neighbor was really grateful for the help and it was fun to hang out and talk with him.

Today I brought some jeans and t-shirts that I'm not using anymore to New Avenues for Youth. The people there were so nice and appreciative and it made me feel good to know that things I don't need anymore can help someone else.

I was at Costco and the woman parked next to me was trying to juggle three kids and a cart, none of which would stay in one place. I walked over and offered to hold her cart for her, and then I said I would return it when she was done. You'd have thought I handed her a winning lottery ticket! She practically cried with joy, and she said thank you more times than I could count. It's amazing how sometimes such a little thing can have such a big impact.
